Dear Sir,The Bermuda Government has done an outstanding job overall in leading the country through the Covid-19 pandemic so far and every Bermuda resident should be grateful and proud.One of the most outstanding successes as we move forward is the testing that has been set up in Bermuda. This disease will be with the world for many years to come. It is clear to us now that one of the most important tools to help minimise the tragic impact and spread of this disease is accurate, timely and reliable testing. Bermuda has that in place. We can see from the news channels that testing in the United States is in a very poor state, with those able to get a test waiting up to ten days for the result.I am part of a large insurance operation spread around the world and we know it is very difficult to get tests arranged at short notice in Britain and anywhere in Europe.However, in Bermuda, Carika Weldon, her team and the supporting doctors and nurses have testing available to all Bermuda residents — and visitors — that is timely and accurate. I have been to the testing facility in St David’s and they are fast and efficient. The doctors, nurses and all the support team are very helpful, polite and reassuring people.
