We’re coming back, Bermuda!

Dear Sir,

Bermuda is definitely coming back! After attending the National Trust Walkabout in St George last evening — December 2 — I think we can say that "normal" is setting in again. On a chilly night the usual Bermudian friendliness, camaraderie and warmth was on display again. Catching up with friends we haven't seen, in some cases for several years, is wonderful.

How nice it would be if we could treat each other all year the same way we do at Christmas time. We all know how to do it! The people looking after us in restaurants, retail stores and service facilities are wearing a smile and taking time to exhibit the customer service we are known for. Those out working to clean our island, collect our trash and deliver our orders are greeting us in their usual friendly manner.

Chin up, Bermuda — we are indeed coming back.

Merry Christmas to everyone and good wishes for a happy, healthy (healthy being the operative word!) 2023.
