A poem from a first-time visitor to the island, dedicated to the many generous souls we encountered. You are joy, you are life. Worldly and local, generous and complex. Thank you for making our first trip to the island magical.
The Spirit of Bermuda
The Spirit of Bermuda is love
The language translated in action
Then Joy, depthless joy
If you spread it, not keep it
It compounds for ever
Sparkling gold
The Spirit of Bermuda
Is a tumbler of tested souls
Souls who have lived
Mysterious bends
To gold
To God
