Attention needed to hook first-time visitors
Dear Sir,
We were just in Bermuda for nine days; it was our fourteenth visit, as we love the island.
There seemed to be less trash and garbage around, which is an improvement from last year. A good sign.
In those nine days, we saw police officers only twice walking the streets. Should we have expected more? Not sure.
We love the beach. Went to Horseshoe Bay and Tobacco Bay. Touting Horseshoe as a national treasure leaves much to be desired. The chairs and umbrellas have intruded on both beaches.
A simple solution would be to require that they be removed each night. We all know that will never happen, and do not have a solution. The bathhouse/showers are a disgrace. There were piles of garbage off to the side. Not a pleasant experience. It has been the same for years.
Again, no solution, but this needs attention quickly. We will continue to visit, as we can get around these situations, but I wonder how many will just not return.
