Lower voting age to 16
Dear Sir,
As a leader in the local African traditional community, I support lowering the voting age to 16.
Young people are more intelligent than old people who follow the middle-class personalities that have failed this country:
Former premier Paula Cox took Bermuda into a -5.3 per cent GDP recession in 2012 and collected a fat pension for it.
The One Bermuda Alliance saved Bermuda with the America’s Cup, taking us back to 2.9 per cent GDP before Covid brought it back down to -13.5 per cent GDP.
The Progressive Labour Party used pension withdrawals to take us back to 4 per cent GDP, but we crashed back to 1 per cent in 2025.
Maybe it was the Iran war or the fact locals are leaving for the welfare state in the UK.
The Government is bankrupting Bermuda, overspending on seniors. We must cut the budget to invest in our future instead of sinking Bermuda, like Jamaica under Michael Manley.
Reduce the voting age to level the playing field and means-test seniors to reduce our debt.
