Aaardvark hires four

New recruits: Aardvark's newly appointed staff Jamie Zebedee, Alistair Melvin, Chris Chiappa and Krystal Outerbridge

Marketing and advertising firm, Aardvark Communications, announced they have made four new additions to their team, including three Bermudians, with the goal of training young local talent.Bermudians Chris Chiappa and Krystal Outerbridge have joined as designers and Alistair Melvin as a junior account executive. Jamie Zebedee also joins Aardvark from Calgary, Canada as a senior designer.Mr Chiappa and Mr Melvin have recently returned to Bermuda having graduated from university in the UK with a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and Marketing Management, respectively.“As their first jobs out of college, Aardvark has provided an important first step for these talented Bermudians to be introduced into the working world,” said Ben Fairn, owner and managing director.Ms Outerbridge holds a BA in Graphic Design from Ontario College of Art & Design and has five years of design and art direction experience with HSBC, KPMG and Appleby. She has also worked on advertising campaigns and collateral material, including the promotion of high profile events such as the HSBC Triathlon and KPMG Front Street Mile.Ms Zebedee boasts a comprehensive career to-date and has seven years of in-house design and corporate communications experience for Suncor Energy, AltaGas Income Trust,The Calgary Sun, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Shaw Communications.“Jamie will be involved in training the junior members of the design team and we are thrilled someone of her stature will be able to pass on her experience on to aspiring local designers,” said Mr Fairn, whose company services a diverse portfolio of reinsurance, finance, medical, telecommunications, retail and tourism clients.The company says they are keen to train young Bermudians with the hope that they will be able to fill more senior roles in the future. Mr Fairn stressed the importance of training up young local talent.“The future of the islands’ economy depends on them; and we are committed to train new graduates,” he said. “The future is bright for Aardvark, our business development activity has lead to the creation of new positions within the agency and we pride ourselves on investing in the professional development of our growing team.”
