Digicel and BF&M have teamed up to offer new phone insurance, in case of accidental loss, theft or damage.The insurance plan will cost Digicel customers $9.99 per month to insure phones they bought from the mobile provider.It is available both for new purchases and to customers who already have phones they would like to insure.“We realise that phones are not cheap commodities,” Digicel Bermuda CEO Wayne Caines said.“One of the worst feelings is to spend hard earned money on a new phone, only to have it lost or stolen, and then to pay more money to replace it. For the monthly price of a large smoothie, you can protect yourself from having to pay hundreds of dollars at once to replace a lost or stolen phone.”There is a limit of two claims per year for each customer and coverage must be in place for three months before the first claim may be made.“We recommend buying phone insurance as soon as possible for our customers’ peace of mind, especially because of the three month requirement,” said Mr Caines.
