CableVision’s Video-on-Demand expands to Southampton, Warwick

Bermuda CableVision customers in Southampton and Warwick now have access to the company’s new Video-on-Demand (VOD) service.

The service launched in early October in Somerset and has been rolled out parish-by-parish, moving from West to East.

CableVision customers will find the new VOD service on Channel 500, which the company says includes a vast library of movies, shows and events that customers can browse and access whenever they want.

Viewers can also choose from a wide selection of programming that includes both free and pay-per-view content. Prices for pay-per-view content start at $2.99. Categories include: new releases, HD (and soon) 3D movies, ‘Free For Kids’ content, events like UFC and boxing and Premium channel programming from Showtime and TMC. There is also a free Karaoke channel as well as free sports programming.

Viewers are also able to pause, rewind and fast-forward the VOD programming they are watching.

The VOD service works with any of the digital set-top boxes currently in customers’ homes and will be added to customers’ service without the need for a service call or hook up. It will eventually be available to all CableVision subscribers island wide and does not require internet service or a monthly subscription.

Customers interested in purchasing programming from the VOD channel do however, need to visit the company’s website (www.cablevision.bm) or Customer Care Centre in the Washington Mall to register for a confidential PIN number. This number protects customers from unauthorised use of their account. Customers will receive an itemised listing of their VOD purchases on their monthly statements.
