Lunchtime seminar to focus on D&O policy

An overview of the Directors and Officers (D&O) liability policy from a US and international perspective is the focus of an upcoming seminar arranged by the Bermuda Insurance Institute.

Eric Scheiner and Edward Smerdon, of Sedgwick LLP, will present the lunchtime event on March 5, which is titled ‘US and International D&O 101: The Basics and Latest Claim Trends’.

“This seminar is designed for the insurance professional interested in gaining a fundamental understanding of the D&O liability insurance policy from a US and international perspective,” explained the BII in a statement.

“The seminar will discuss fundamentals of a D&O policy from what's covered, the threshold coverage triggers and key conditions and what's excluded. The seminar will also touch upon the more significant D&O trends that could impact Bermuda market carriers both in the US and internationally.

“It is particularly appropriate for in-house counsel, underwriters, claims professionals at all levels, policy wording professionals, general counsel and brokers.”

The seminar, which will run from noon until 2pm, is open to members and non-members (charge for non-members is $150). Contact the BII for further details.
