New nightclub in St George’s opens

A new nightclub is set to open its doors in St George’s today.Dawan Tucker is launching the Limelight Lounge on Water Street, next to the Old Town ferry terminal. He hopes to cater to those nostalgic for disco, the ‘80s, soul and funk.The club will also feature live entertainment, local DJs, and stand-up poetry.“I truly feel Bermuda is a beautiful place to live and to visit,” Mr Tucker said. “With a slight bit of ‘adjustment’, we as Bermudians may be able to pull this lovely Island back to its good old days of clean, fun entertainment for all ages.“Let's get those ‘70s steppers out of their seats and onto the dance floor again!”Limelight’s hours of operation will be Mondays through Thursdays, from 1pm to 11pm; Fridays and Saturdays from 1pm to 2am and Sundays from 1pm to midnight.“Our main goal is to satisfy mature adults, be it locals or visitors, with friendly service and staff hosting the best local talent of yesteryear to present.”The lounge is having a grand opening on April 6 with DJ Craig "Bubbles" Darrell hosting “a very special surprise”, Mr Tucker said.And, with summer around the corner, Limelight is planning to charter cruise passengers from Dockyard to the lounge via a partnership with Exclusive Charters, Mr Tucker said.Limelight was most recently Club Minaj, and before that Kings Port and Chick’s.
