Digicel and CellOne have both announced the new BlackBerry Z10 will launch in Bermuda next week.

Digicel announced Friday the new redesigned, re-engineered smartphone will be available in their stores across the Caribbean and in Bermuda on Tuesday, April 23.

CellOne later came out announcing it too would start selling the new device on that date.

Powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz processor supported by 2GB of RAM, the BlackBerry Z10 offers two cameras: a front-facing 2-megapixel fixed-focus unit with image and video stabilisation capable of 720p HD video, and an 8-megapixel autofocus camera capable of 1080p full-HD video.

“Digicel keeps its customers on the cutting-edge by offering the latest handsets that suit any lifestyle and budget,” Digicel group chief commercial officer, Brian Finn, said.

“With the launch of the new BlackBerry Z10 smartphone, customers will experience the latest in BlackBerry smartphone technology — enabling them to create and share extraordinary moments with their friends and family using Digicel’s fast and reliable 4G mobile network.”

The BlackBerry Z10 is the touch screen only model. The BlackBerry Q10, which will also feature a physical keyboard, won’t be made available until later this summer.

Neither Digicel nor CellOne would say what the retail price of the Z10 will be here in Bermuda.

Coming soon: The new BlackBerry Z10 smartphone will be available at Digicel and CellOne starting next week.
