Reinsurer donates $25,000 to BFIS

Reinsurer Wind River Reinsurance Company has donated $25,000 to the Bermuda Foundation For Insurance Studies (BFIS).“We feel that the work BFIS is doing in assisting students as they make the transition from school to college to the insurance workplace is exemplary,” said Steve Green, president of Wind River Re. “Their track record in administering multiple scholarships for students planning careers in the insurance sector combined with their mentoring, intern and career guidance programmes made them the natural choice for us to support.”BFIS chairman Michael Fisher said he was “delighted that Wind River Re are now part of the BFIS ‘family’ and we look forward to working with them”.Marie-Joelle Chapleau, Wind River Re’s COO in Bermuda said, “Although we only have a small office in Bermuda we hope to be able to assist BFIS with summer work opportunities for their students and look forward to meeting the interns who are taking part in their Bermuda ‘Intro-to-Insurance’ Summer Intern Programme.”Wind River Re, based in Bermuda in the Emporium Building, is a wholly-owned non-US reinsurance operating subsidiary of Global Indemnity, Ireland.
