Soothe operators: Enjoy–an authentic Thai message without going to Bangkok

If a trip to the renowned Oriental Spa at the Mandarin Oriental in Bangkok isn’t in your budget just yet, don’t worry!

This summer, Elbow Beach guests and the general public are being offered a unique opportunity to experience Bangkok in Bermuda.

Therapists Jen Chiangman and Serm Sutakarn from Bangkok will be visiting the The Spa at Elbow Beach and can be booked for three of the Oriental Spa’s signature — and most popular — treatments at from June 1 to August 31.

The two Oriental Spa therapists will be offering The Oriental Signature Treatment — This unique ‘Oriental’ Journey includes a signature massage with a concentrated blend of essential oils extracted from plants, which release their soothing properties into the skin.

The technique, which combines Thai and European styles, eases muscle tension and energises the body with acupressure movements and stretching. The experience ends with a localised shoulder and spinal homemade compress containing fresh Thai herbs like lemongrass, turmeric and plai. This treatment is one hour and 30 minutes and is priced at $255.

“We’re thrilled to be able to offer these distinctive spa treatments,” says Nyland Adams, Spa director. “This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for residents and visitors to be able to experience a treatment with therapists from a spa of this calibre.”

The Oriental Spa is currently celebrating its 20th year and was the first to open within a hotel property in Bangkok. The spa is regularly acclaimed as one of the best in the world and has been widely recognised as a pioneer in the Thai spa industry. Its initiative to provide an all-encompassing spa experience that couples traditional 2,000 year-old Thai holistic teachings with contemporary philosophies creates a harmonic ambience that is both nurturing and rejuvenating.

The following massages are also part of the special offer at The Spa at Elbow Beach:

Traditional Thai: This is a dry massage that has a firm base in traditional Thai holistic philosophy with roots in ancient teachings. The entire body benefits from pressure point massage and stretching. Tension disappears, replaced by a feeling of increased energy and peace. This treatment is one hour and 20 minutes and is priced at $235.

Balinese: An ancient deep tissue massage from the Asian healing tradition using a combination of thumb pressure, deep muscle manipulation and warm sweeping strokes that help you to relax and rejuvenate. This treatment is 1 hour and 20 minutes and is priced at $235.
