Digicel earns Cisco Gold certification

Digicel Bermuda has announced it has become the Island’s only Cisco Gold Certified Partner.

This as parent the Digicel Group achieved Cisco Gold Certification across the Caribbean, Panama and El Salvador.

To earn Gold Certification, Digicel had to meet rigorous standards set forth by Cisco in networking competency, service, support and customer satisfaction.

“This is great news for the Bermuda market,” said Tom O’Neill, Business Solutions director of Digicel Bermuda.

“This Cisco Gold Partner certification signifies higher technical competency and better customer satisfaction, which in turn allows Digicel greater purchasing power for Cisco products, allowing our customers in Bermuda to benefit from better service delivery and value. We are pleased to be the only Cisco Gold Partner in Bermuda, which really shows how we have set ourselves apart from the competition in terms of our Cisco competency.

“Cisco performs an annual audit to ensure that we are meeting the high standards required for this certification.”

Digicel Group director of Business Solutions, Tom Carson, added: “Digicel Business is the region’s leading full services business solutions partner and we continue to develop our capabilities in all markets through recruitment and training.

“Now, having a key solutions presence in 26 markets with this type of capability sets us apart and will allow us to deliver increased value, innovation and partnership to our customers across the region.”

Edison Peres, senior vice president of worldwide channels at Cisco commented: “With specialisations in unified communications, routing and switching, security, and wireless LAN, Digicel has made an investment in developing the capability to deliver the integrated and customised technology solutions that today’s customers demand.”

The Cisco Resale Channel Programme provides a framework for partners to build the sales, technical and Cisco Lifecycle Services skills required to deliver Cisco solutions to end customers. Through the programme's specialisations and certifications, Cisco recognises a partner's expertise in deploying solutions based on Cisco advanced technologies and services. Using a third-party audit process, the programme validates a partner’s technology skills, business practices, customer satisfaction, presages and post-sales support capabilities, and other critical factors that customers consider when choosing a trusted partner.

As a Cisco Gold Certified Partner, Digicel has met the requirements for attaining the broadest range of expertise across multiple technologies by achieving Cisco advanced specialisations in unified communications, routing and switching, security, and wireless LAN. In addition, Digicel has integrated Cisco Lifecycle Services into its offerings and is required to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. Cisco Gold Certification provides Digicel with access to comprehensive sales, technical, and life cycle services training and support available from Cisco.
