Annual Top 10 Employers survey kicks off

The Bottom Line’s annual Top 10 Employers in Bermuda kicks off its fifth annual survey this month to find the best companies for which to work on the Island.The people-based survey endeavours to find which of the Island’s companies offer the most rewarding work environment across a number of key employment areas.This is the third year the survey has partnered with Mindmaps, one of Bermuda’s leading quantitative research firms, to create the online survey and provide statistical analysis of the key measurement areas. Additionally, PwC, Bermuda’s largest professional services firm will be sponsoring the event for the second year.The survey focuses on generating data from employees regarding a number of key employment areas including staff benefits, hiring rates, workplace safety and conditions, internal communication, compensation, corporate culture and overall satisfaction, among other areas.New to the survey this year is the partnership with Investors In People (IIP), the UK’s leading people management standard, to help hone the survey questions to best determine the top employers.“We are very excited that Investors In People has partnered with us this year,” said Jonathan Kent, editor of The Bottom Line. “Their knowledge of people management and employment best practices has helped us take the survey to the next level.”Entrants representing major industries here took part It was the largest pool of entrants to date.Bacardi International took the top spot in 2012. New to the survey in 2011, the spirits company placed the number two spot in its debut. Bacardi continued its march up the rankings and took top honours in 2012.Do you think your company has what it takes to be a top employer in Bermuda? This year’s survey entrance period is open until August 9. Companies must have 25 employees or more to be eligible to enter.
