New owners at Edgehill Manor guest house

Edgehill Manor: Modernisation programme

A Pembroke guest house has new owners after two years on the market.

And Edgehill Manor — which has been under the same ownership for 30 years — is to start a programme of modernisation and improvement at the property.

Manager Tricia Shastri declined to identify Edgehill’s new owners.

But she said the main shareholders in Edgehill Ltd were “a couple of Bermudian families, who believe in the future of Bermuda, especially within the tourism industry”.

She added: “We’re currently in discussions with contractors regarding significant improvements to the common areas.

“The pool area will become a focal area with two decks, new tiling and other improvements.

“New family-friendly features will be added, such as comfortable pool lounge furniture and umbrellas, as well as an outdoor family area and general improvements to the secluded garden.”

Ms Shastri said that wifi coverage would also be boosted, while an express checkout system will be added for business visitors.

And she added: “Upgrading technology infrastructure with a new hotel management system will ensure customer information remains secure during the booking process and we will continue to enhance the overall customer journey with us.”

Previous owner Bridget Marshall will retain a financial interest in the Rosemont Avenue guest house, which has 14 rooms and employs three full-time staff, but will retire from day-to-day operations after a transition period.

Ms Shastri said: “We have a great value proposition and are confident we’re starting a new chapter with another 30 years of successful guest house operations in Bermuda.”

Bermuda Tourism Authority (BTA) chief investment officer Andy Burrows said the organisation’s investment division had been involved in the change of management.

He added: “New investment in Bermuda tourism brings fresh ideas, renewed energy and ultimately jobs to the Bermuda economy.

“Guest houses remain an important part of Bermuda’s tourism product and room inventory.

“We wish Edgehill Manor guest house continued success for the future.”
