Business for sale: The Freeport Seafood Restaurant has been advertised for sale. The restaurant at Dockyard dates back many decades. A long-established restaurant business in the west end is on the market. Freeport Garden Restaurant, which is just inside the gates of the Royal Naval Dockyard, is for sale at $250,000. The price includes all the equipment and a long lease.

The restaurant, which also has a cocktail lounge, has been operated by current owners Valerio and Kathy Ausenda for more than 20 years.

An advertisement in yesterday’s edition of the The Royal Gazette outlined a financial proposition, which stated owner financing with $63,500 down and the balance of $187,000 being paid over a seven-year period at a 4.5 per cent financing.

When contacted, Mr Ausenda declined to go into details about the sale at this time.

According to the restaurant’s website, the building has been used as an eating establishment since the late 1800s, when it was a front room where Dockyard workers ate their lunch. It became a formal restaurant after the Second World War.

Anyone wishing details regarding the sale of the business should contact Brian S Alkon Realty, on 505-0512 or e-mail balkon@northrock.bm
