Argus partners with SoftBank Team Japan

Proud to be involved: Argus Group employees with members of SoftBank Team Japan. Argus Group has been appointed official healthcare provider for the sailing team

The Argus Group has been named as the official healthcare partner for America’s Cup competitor SoftBank Team Japan.

The group will support the team leading up and during next year’s 35th America’s Cup.

SoftBank Team Japan has its competition base in Dockyard, adjacent to the base of America’s Cup defender Oracle Team USA.

Dean Barker, skipper of SoftBank Team Japan, said of the deal: “Access to quality healthcare and coverage is a top priority for any athletic team.

“It’s for this reason that we’re excited to have a leading healthcare provider such as Argus as our partner for our America’s Cup challenge. Sailing in the America’s Cup is a high performance extreme sport and we want our team members to have access to the best coverage in the world.”

Alison Hill, chief executive officer of Argus Group said it was an honour for the company to be a sponsor of the team.

“As an insurance provider, we understand that investing in the present can help to protect your future. Whether it’s maintaining an insurance plan to protect yourself against future damages, sticking to a savings plan to prepare for retirement, or exercising and eating healthy to stave off disease, we know that hard work pays off,” she said.

“It is with this theme that we embrace our sponsorship of SoftBank Team Japan, a team of athletes who each work hard every day to reach the highest level in their sport.

“We look forward to promoting this concept with our community and in particular with our youth through our sponsorship leading up to America’s Cup.”
