An event-planning business of 26 years’ standing has a new owner.

Nandi Outerbridge has taken over The Bridal Suite Bermuda, after buying it this year from Alister Carmen-Simmons.

The business offers full-service planning, design, production and management of each celebration.

Ms Outerbridge, 31, said: “I was looking to start my own business, but came across the previous owners who said they were selling theirs.

“The timing was amazing and I decided this is the best decision to make, as the company was well established under the previous ownership. So I knew with my new energy I can continue to give the company life.”

Ms Outerbridge, a former Member of Parliament, believes that she was gifted with an eye for design and styling.

“I was also good at maths, so I went into accounting,” she said. “Over the years I would always host my own parties and people always asked why don’t I go into this business.

“I didn’t realise how passionate I was for this business until after my first job, it was then I realised that this is what I needed to do,” she said.

Ms Outerbridge has added additional features to the business, including rentals of tents, tables, chairs and more.

“My plan is to continue to maintain the current business structure while continuing to expand on what we can offer for rentals to our clients,” she said.

“We have also recently added a sister company, Chic Interiors, which is a full interior design company.”

The company has an extensive client list that includes celebrities, Fortune 500 companies, private-hosts and professional athletes.

The feedback has been positive as well. One testimonial on the company’s website from a client named Glenn reads: “I wanted to plan a vow renewal ceremony for my parents’ 30th anniversary and Bridal Suite Bermuda was the first and only call I made.
