The Waterfront Group has hired Catherine Burns as assistant vice-president of nutrition, wellness and community health.

Ms Burns is a nutritional therapist with more than 15 years’ experience in the field. She is the owner of Natural Nutrition, president of the Bermuda Nutritional Therapy Association and has created popular health programmes such as Nutrifit and Beat the Couch. She also writes a nutrition advice column for The Royal Gazette.

The group said Ms Burns will maintain the Natural Nutrition and Nutrifit programme under its umbrella, incorporating them into a new range of wellness projects offered by the company, which includes The Waterfront Properties and Marina, The Waterfront Residences, Miles Market, Harry’s, PW Marine, Tone Zone and Hawkins Island.

Will Cox, president of The Waterfront Group, said: “We are uniquely positioned to integrate wellness across all facets of our business and by bringing Catherine on board, we’re able to further advance this mission. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and an established reputation within the community as it relates to wellness and nutrition.”

Working within the group, the company said, Ms Burns will be able to extend her community reach and will focus on nutrition education, building on her existing programmes that have ranged from working with children in schools, to companies that want to promote health and fitness in the workplace.

She said: “I work with people to create exciting, real-life solutions that positively impact their health and lifestyle each and every day.

“After being introduced via the Ignite Entrepreneurial Spark programme, meeting with Will and hearing of the companies’ long-term plans, it was clear our visions are aligned.”
