Bermudian business executive Deshay Caines has joined Bowring Marsh (Bermuda) Ltd, the international placement specialist of Marsh, as a vice president with responsibility for diversity, inclusion and social impact strategy.

She will report to Chris Reeves, president and chief executive officer, Bowring Marsh (Bermuda).

The company said Ms Caines is responsible for assisting with Marsh’s global diversity and inclusion strategy, owning local communications, analysing functional D&I impact for Bermuda, coordinating with external community partners aligned to its talent selection and development objectives, and keeping the business relevant and compliant.

Additionally, she acts as the corporate social responsibility subject matter expert and internal and external ambassador to optimise and grow social impact efforts. This includes corporate citizenship, employee volunteerism, charitable giving, employee programmes, and fundraising.

Ms Caines joins Bowring Marsh from the Pristine Group Ltd, where she was the president and founder.

Prior to that, she worked in business development for the Bermuda Business Development Agency, and Digicel Bermuda.

Ms Caines has previously consulted on colleague and client engagement initiatives and has worked with various organisations that have invested in Bermuda’s communities.

The company said she brings a wealth of corporate and social knowledge, which will be invaluable to this new role at Bowring Marsh.

Mr Reeves said: “Deshay has a unique way of bringing out the best in the people she interacts with which will help us drive our local D&I initiatives forward and ensure Bowring Marsh remains an employer of choice.”

Ms Caines said: “After working with Bowring Marsh for several years as a consultant, I am excited to help this great company continue to create a culture that values every experience and maximises the potential of all of our colleagues.”
