Bermuda Commercial Laundry installs new washers and dryers

First Prev 1 2 3 Next Last

Preparing for an increase in demand once the hospitality sector begins to recover from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, Bermuda Commercial Laundry has invested in some high-performance washers and dryers.

The company has installed Continental Girbau commercial washers and dryers, which it said have “the latest technology to ensure better energy efficiency and top-quality cleaning”.

The washers can accommodate up to 480lbs of laundry, while the dryers have a capacity of 800lbs.

Owner Collins Smith sees the investment as an opportunity to cater to large hospitality and healthcare clients. He said: “Covid threw us a curveball, as it did with many local businesses. We saw a big drop in requests from hospitality clients but we are optimistic for 2021, especially with St Regis and Azura hotels opening, and the hope that tourism will pick back up after the vaccine roll-out.

“The new washers allow us to focus on quality and efficiency, while using less natural resources and chemicals. Our unique selling point is definitely our personalised service with a pristine product turned around in 24 hours, even for our largest clients. We also offer island-wide pick-up and delivery.”

Mr Smith launched Bermuda Commercial Laundry more than 30 years ago at Tribe Road 2, Ord Road in Warwick. The facility is now Bermuda’s largest commercial launderer, operating seven days a week to cater to hotels, restaurants, guesthouses, Airbnbs, caterers, care homes, event planners as well as many residential clients.

Mr Smith’s son, Tarik Smith, helps to run the business. He said: “Hard work, and commitment to your customers – these are values my father has passed on to me through our family business. We are grateful to our loyal clients who come to us for a trusted, professional experience from a longstanding family run laundry.”

Island Restaurant Group has used Bermuda Commercial Laundry for more than 20 years. A spokesperson from the group, said: “Their quality, standards, attention to detail and over the top customer service are the best on the island. Whether it’s a regular pick-up or a last second order we can count on Bermuda Commercial Laundry seven days a week. There is no one better than Bermuda Commercial Laundry to take care of our total restaurant needs.”
