FedEx tops RG Business Employers awards

First Prev 1 2 3 4 Next Last

The 2021 RG Business Top Ten Employers Awards, sponsored by PwC, has concluded in pandemic fashion, with The Royal Gazette, sponsors and partners forced to transition from the traditional awards ceremony to a video-recorded presentation, in accordance with Covid-19 regulations.

Amid all the changes, including the pandemic-forced 2020 hiatus year, FedEx has emerged as the overall winner for 2021.

This programme traditionally includes an awards ceremony held in late September at the Hamilton Princess Hotel.

“We were forced to improvise,” RG commercial director Michael Grier said, “after cancelling the traditional September in-person ceremony. We recognised that there had just been too much effort put in by the community and our partners. There was no way we could cancel the entire affair.

“The local business community has taken a beating over the last 18 months. This is an opportunity to celebrate our community’s resilience.

“When we were forced to cancel the in-person event, there was an overwhelming plea from the finalists to do something.

“Starting earlier in the month, we began to count down the Top Ten Employers on the RG & RG Mags digital platforms. Each day, we released the names of winners via video presentation.”

Mr Grier added: “The announcement of FedEx as the overall winner is carried in our RG Business publication circulated with copies of The Royal Gazette newspaper today.

“In the same edition, we are carrying articles and photos of the other winners, rounding out the 2021 RG Business Top Ten Employers.

“We were determined to include the event’s human element through a series of videos that highlight each company and an abbreviated presentation.”

In addition to the Top Ten Award, the Bermuda Human Resources Association joined the RG Business Top Ten Employer Awards in 2019 with The Diversity Award, which it presented this year.

PwC is celebrating a milestone with The 2021 RG Business Top Ten Employers Awards as a long-time sponsor.

Arthur Wightman, PwC Bermuda leader, said: “We offer our congratulations to this year’s Top Ten Employers on their remarkable achievement in an incredibly difficult year.

“Last year was our tenth year sponsoring the awards, and PwC is proud to continue our support of this important annual recognition of organisations who are leading the way in providing the best workplace experiences in Bermuda. "

The results from the RG Business Top Ten Awards are 100 per cent data-based and calculated by Global Research (www.globalresearch.bm), Bermuda’s leading agency in market research.

Global Research’s director, Leslie Steede, said that “both employees and management complete surveys that assess employment satisfaction across various areas such as employment benefits, career growth opportunities, communication and overall employee satisfaction.”
