Rosewood Bermuda has been ranked as the best hotel in Bermuda in US News and World Report’s 12th annual ranking of the best hotels on the island and beyond.

Ranked second and third are Hamilton Princess Hotel & Beach Club and Royal Palms Hotel.

The Fairmont Southampton, which has been closed since 2020 and is expected to re-open next summer, took fourth spot, and Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa was ranked fifth.

The publication said it is “the global authority in rankings and consumer advice”, adding: “While some global travel remains limited, these hotels continue to provide top-of-the-line amenities and hospitality for travellers looking to plan ahead.”

Zach Watson, senior travel editor at US News, said: "The travel industry has faced many disruptions over the past two years, highlighting the need to support and recognise hotels that continue to maintain excellent standards.

“The 2022 Best Hotels rankings offer a dependable guide for travellers to use when organising their next trip, whether that's in a few weeks or later in the year."

The Peninsula Chicago was ranked best hotel in the United States.

Eden Rock — St Barths in St Barts is the best hotel in the Caribbean and the best resort in the Caribbean. Meanwhile, Jade Mountain in St Lucia maintains the top spot as the best all-inclusive resort in the Caribbean.

For the best hotels in Mexico and the best resorts in Mexico, Montage Los Cabos in Cabo San Lucas takes the top spot, while Grand Velas Los Cabos is the best all-inclusive resort in the country.

Rosewood Hotel Georgia in Vancouver earns recognition as the best hotel in Canada, and Le Bristol Paris once again came in as the best hotel in Europe.

US News said it scores hotels using a methodology that combines each hotel's industry awards with its star rating and guest sentiment.
