New AES company makes solar roof care seamless
AES Solar has launched Solar Roof Maintenance, a new business providing total roof care for solar panel owners in Bermuda.
Stephanie Lynam, company office manager, said AES started Solar Roof Maintenance because solar panel owners on the island were always asking them to remove solar panels for roof painting or maintenance.
“We thought this was a way to accommodate, as a one-stop shop,” Ms Lynam said. “We could disconnect panels and fix cracks, paint the roof and reapply the panels saving the amount of time panels were off the roof not producing energy.”
Tim Madeiros incorporated AES in 2008, one of the first solar panel companies in Bermuda. Since then they have installed, or have under contract, over 14,000 solar panels across Bermuda, for the domestic and commercial market.
Clients include Lindo’s, West End Development Corporation, Gorham’s and the Aquarium, among others.
Solar Roof Maintenance technicians can install, repair and maintain all types of solar panels including residential, commercial, industrial and ground mount. They carry parts and service records for all manufacturers and racking types.
“Our mission is to make maintenance as seamless as possible for solar panel owners so they don’t have to think about a thing,” a spokesman for the company said.
“Instead of having to call two or more companies to remove, potentially repair, paint the roof and reinstall the panels, you can simply call one company now and we handle everything.”
The new company has nine employees who are all trained and certified.
They have partnered with SunPower, Sonnen, Enphase, SMA, Unirac and S-5 but their expert technicians are also trained to service panels from LG, Mitsubishi, QCells, Piemar, Panasonic among others.
Customers who do not see their solar panel brand listed are encouraged to reach out anyway. Additionally, when a customer signs up for a Solar Roof Maintenance service contract it can include the removal, safe storage and reinstallation of solar panels during a hurricane which helps to avoid solar panel damage during a storm.
