Talented Tika Gilbert is new IBA president

Tika Gilbert has been appointed president of the Institute of Bermuda Architects.

Ms Gilbert is a RIBA chartered architect, registered in the UK, an International Associate of AIA, and a graduate of Kingston University, London.

She returned to Bermuda in 2019 after gaining extensive experience working in Britain and is the owner and principal architect of Tika Gilbert Architects.

She is also an internationally recognised artist, having exhibited in London, published in the United States, and been invited to numerous exhibits in Europe and Japan.

Ms Gilbert said: “With the current leadership role as Bermuda’s ambassador for Global Architect Alliance, UK, I am privileged to take on this new role in parallel as the president of the Institute of Bermuda Architects from my previous position of secretary.

“I hope to continue to provide invaluable support to people of diverse backgrounds at different stages of their architectural career and education.

“Lastly, I look forward to representing the profession and industry as we work together towards providing for the future of Bermuda.”
