An entrepreneur who left behind a desk job as a corporate lawyer to create booking software for the 109,000 barbershops in the United States is among the featured speakers at InspireCon 2022 next week in Bermuda.

Squire Technologies, the start-up co-founded by Songe LaRon, was featured on the Forbes Next Billion-Dollar Start-ups list in 2021.

The Bermuda Economic Development Corporation has partnered with New York-based Driven Society to present the event, which will be held next Thursday.

First held in 2019, InspireCon focuses on entertainment and enrichment, where ideas are born, cultivated, and released to effect change in our communities, the BEDC said.

Attendees will discuss a variety of topics including taking the leap into entrepreneurship, leveraging technology to take your lifestyle business to the next level, transitioning from a corporate job to entrepreneurship, mindfulness and being intentional.

In addition to Mr LaRon, the line-up of international guests includes entertainment executive Brandon Pankey, founder of Artist Presented Experiences (APEX), a new AVOD video network dedicated to programming curated for and by music artists; and Arianna Rose and Soleil Laurent, founders of The Equality Education, who will share their journey of establishing their business to help transform limiting beliefs into empowering ones.

Accompanying the panellists are Driven Society’s Dustin Edelhertz and Travis Weeks, both of whom are entrepreneurs.

Mr Edelhertz said: “We’re so happy to be invited back to Bermuda and share in the creative energy we feel every time we visit.

“Having the opportunity to have conversations around mindfulness and entrepreneurship, helping someone along their journey, is an experience we don’t take for granted.

“This year we selected some very special guests whose stories are sure to inspire you to keep pushing forward with your goals and dreams. We’ll see you soon!”

The event, part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, will be hosted by HSBC in their Harbour View Centre in Hamilton.

Tickets, $35, are available at www.bedc.bm/events/inspirecon-2022/.
