The Bermuda Chamber of Commerce is to offer a series of lunch and learn opportunities designed to improve leadership skills and equip individuals with the behaviours needed to succeed in today’s hybrid workplace.

The Career Leadership Series workshops will be led by Lorene Phillips, and cover topics such as networking, self-advocacy, and stress management.

The chamber said Ms Phillips is a well-established executive who helps leaders, teams and individuals achieve higher levels of career satisfaction with an emphasis on leadership development, career transition, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

She is an ICF accredited executive, career & team coach, business etiquette & corporate trainer, facilitator, speaker, and writer.

The workshops are scheduled around lunchtime, hosted by the chamber, and catered. Ticket prices are $35 for members and $45 for non-members.

The upcoming workshops are: February 21, Networking with Confidence in Today's Hybrid Workplace; April 20, Career Negotiation Skills: How to ask for what you want so you can truly succeed at work; and June 15, Career Resilience: Finding the work-life balance to thrive in today’s hybrid workplace.

The chamber said the programme is ideal for aspiring leaders, new leaders and anyone looking to better their understanding of leading themselves or leading others. It provides each individual with a unique opportunity to use their core values and beliefs as a guide towards success both personally and professionally.

Of the networking workshop, Ms Phillips said: “Although we can all agree that it is who you know that gets you access to the best and most unique opportunities, how you actually go about doing that is a skill.

“That means everyone can learn and strengthen this critical success tool to get the success they are looking for, even if you are shy or introverted.

“I have honed this skill from many years as a successful international underwriting executive and I work with my clients to be strategic in building key relationships, internally and externally.

“This will be a fun, engaging and practical workshop for any professional who wants more opportunities and just doesn’t know how to get there.”
