Island Boat Club is to open a second location in the East End on May 1.

Members will be able to depart from the existing locale at Carolina Bay in Sandys, or from the new venue at Boat Port, St George’s.

Jack Bridges, the owner of Island Boat Club, said: “The new location allows us to better serve our members in the East End of the island and offer our members ultimate flexibility, as all members will have equal access to both east and west locations depending on where they would like to go boating that day.”

The club has added a fifth boat to its fleet, which has been named Bluefin.

Mr Bridges said: “The 24-foot Hurricane Sundeck has a ski pole which makes it great for water sports, and can accommodate up to 12 people, making it great for entertaining also.

“All our boats are also equipped with GPS screens to help keep our members safe and give them added confidence in operating the boats. We have added routes to, and from, the best boating locations on the island to make it easy for members to navigate to, and from, their favourite spots safely.”

The eastern location will start with two boats — the new Bluefin, and Yellowtail, a 20ft Scout centre console.

The western location will have two 28ft Axopars, Grey Dog and Whitewater, and a 21ft dual console Robalo called Blackfin.

The club recently announced new, flexible membership options. Its explorer membership starts at $4,950 initiation and $495 per month.

A fractional membership is available, and corporate memberships are also on offer.

Mr Bridges said: “We are so confident in our membership that we allow all new members the option to cancel their membership within the first two months of joining and receive 90 per cent of their initiation fee back.”
