George Thomas joins Bermuda Press board

George Thomas has joined the board of directors of the Bermuda Press (Holdings) Limited.

And Gavin Arton has retired as a director in accordance with the company bylaw addressing mandatory retirement age.

The board thanked Mr Arton for his longstanding service to the company, in particular for his deep experience in corporate governance.

It continued: “Gavin’s abiding interest in Bermuda and The Royal Gazette has been a benefit to our shareholders for many years.

“George Thomas was elected to the board at the 2023 Annual General Meeting and brings diverse management and corporate governance experience to the company.

“Mr Thomas, a Bermudian, has over 30 years of financial services and corporate governance experience gained working at firms in Bermuda, New York, Boston, London, and Tokyo.

“He has served on company boards of regulated and non-regulated entities in North America, Asia, and Europe.

“Mr Thomas earned a BA. in economics from Duke University and an MBA in finance and quantitative methods from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.“
