Paul Moniz has been appointed operations manager at the logistics and container management company, Stevedoring Services Ltd.

SSL is a subsidiary of Polaris Holding Company and operates Hamilton Docks. It is involved in offloading the vast majority of Bermuda’s imported freight.

Mr Moniz joined the company in 2010 and has been superintendent of operations since 2019.

As operations manager, he will be in charge of all aspects of the Polaris subsidiary. This includes ship operations, garage maintenance, equipment and inventory. He will also be responsible for the finances of Stevedoring Services.

Warren Jones, the chief executive of Polaris, said: “Paul has been acting successfully in this role for close to a year and we are pleased to officially appoint him as operations manager of Stevedoring Services Limited.

“His extensive experience, his diligence and leadership has already made an impact. The board, the SSL team and I, are confident that Paul’s appointment ensures we deliver on our commitment to serve Bermuda and build value for our shareholders.”

Polaris is a BSX-listed company that has a number of other subsidiaries, including East End Asphalt Company and Equipment Sales and Rentals – which leases heavy equipment to Stevedoring Services.
