The Bermuda Economic Development Corporation is accepting applications for its Enterprise Bermuda Accelerator.

This six-to-seven-month intensive programme supports small and medium-sized business owners to help them scale their businesses.

Utilising the award-winning StreetWise ‘MBA’ curriculum and a facilitated peer-learning method, entrepreneurs will receive hands-on training, networking and industry support to help them to scale their businesses.

The accelerator will support business owners who have been running for more than three years, have at least one full-time employee besides the owner and earn a gross annual revenue between $100,000 and $5 million.

During the seven months, participants will receive tools to help advance their business acumen, financial management, marketing and sales strategies, human resource tactics, business strategy development and strategies to access capital and develop contracts.

“If you’re a business owner aiming to take your established venture to the next level, our Enterprise Bermuda Accelerator programme is tailored for you,” Jamillah Lodge, the director of communications and development at the BEDC, said.

“Helping businesses set to expand is crucial for revitalising Bermuda’s economy. This programme offers valuable education and resources to strengthen our local business landscape."

The BEDC has partnered with the private sector to provide successful applicants with access to top industry experts to help deliver the curriculum and establish broader networking opportunities.

So far, more than 50 minority and female-owned businesses in Bermuda have benefited from Interise’s StreetWise ‘MBA’ programme.

“We are proud to continue our partnership with BEDC as we enter our 20th year of providing the tools to help small businesses build resiliency during these challenging times,” Interise chief executive Darrell Byers said.

The Enterprise Bermuda Accelerator starts on January 11 and will run biweekly on Thursdays for 13 sessions over seven months.

The programme is designed specifically for established small and medium-sized business owners and managers of non-profits.

The price is $799. Upon completion, successful applicants receive a 50 per cent fee rebate to reinvest in their business.
