Bermuda is known for its pink sand and pink buses, so it was the natural inspiration for a blush made by a celebrity make-up artist.

American clean cosmetic company RMS Beauty has just launched the Bermuda Rose Kit designed by Rose-Marie Swift.

During her cosmetology career, Ms Swift worked with brands such as Louis Vuitton, Victoria’s Secret and Vogue.

She said her dream is to come to Bermuda.

“It is the thing I really want to do, hence the name,” she said.

She started RMS Beauty, a clean make-up company, in 2009 owing to health concerns about the toxins in most cosmetics.

The Bermuda Rose Kit will be on sale at “clean” boutique Cassine at 25 Reid Street in Hamilton.

It comes in a reusable keepsake box and aims to provide everything needed to achieve a “lit-from-within” glow.

“Bermuda Rose gives the skin a kiss of colour,” Ms Swift said.

Cassine, run by Bermudian mother and daughter duo Mia Chambray and Jennifer Page, has stocked RMS since it launched in 2018.

“We wanted RMS to be the only make-up brand that we stocked,” Ms Chambray said. “Their groundbreaking clean ingredients are not found in any other cosmetics, and the range is inclusive of all shades, ages and skin types. There really is nothing else like it.”

Ms Chambray and her mother recently spent three days in Savannah, Georgia, with Ms Swift and the RMS team, learning about RMS Beauty formulations and techniques.

They screamed when they found out that an RMS Beauty product would be named after Bermuda.

“I have been waiting for this moment for five years!” Ms Chambray said. “This moment is not just ours alone to celebrate. All of our customers helped to create this moment of global celebration for Bermuda. We are all Bermuda roses.”

To toast the launch, Cassine will be hosting a shopping evening today, from 5.30pm to 7pm at 25 Reid Street. They have turned the shop into a Bermuda rose garden for the occasion
