The Bermuda Clarity Institute is to offer a workshop series on generative artificial intelligence for the benefit of the island’s corporate leaders.

The workshops are to begin during the week of November 13.

Generative AI is a branch of artificial intelligence that focuses on generating new data based on existing data.

The sessions will be led by Stuart Lacey, cofounder and a director of the BCI, and Aaron Smith, the president and chief executive officer of the Igility Group of Companies, who has joined the BCI as AI growth leader for Bermuda.

Mr Lacey recently completed an 11-hour, hands-on generative AI workshop in New York and says he immediately thought: “Let’s bring this to Bermuda.”

He said: “We have arranged a very thoughtful, hands-on approach, for groups of no more than 20 attendees where attendees don’t just watch a speaker, but where they participate using their own laptops, showing them just how easy it is to start using AI tools.”

Mr Lacey added: “We are bringing this kind of value to Bermuda because nothing has been done to help Bermudian business leaders and their teams, and entrepreneurs, to discover what is happening in the world of generative AI, and learn how to start applying it in their businesses. These sessions are a first for the community, filling a much needed gap in professional development.”

The workshops will review AI’s most relevant applications, and will focus on tangible use cases, ensuring that leaders can implement what they have learnt immediately and effectively.

Participants will become familiar with concepts including the use of essential AI tools; using AI for productivity gains; demonstrated use cases for AI in human resources, finance, and sales and marketing; plug-ins and Chat-Bots and other business AI frameworks.

The BCI is to offer three levels of workshop that attendees can be certified in.

Mr Lacey said the foundation level “is the 101 course, a stepping stone to the advanced workshop”.

The advanced workshop, meanwhile, “is an opportunity for people to take what they have learnt in the foundation workshop and start using it in relation to actual use cases to move the company forward”.

He added: “The VIP workshop is a custom session where a company team brings its own data, or use cases, with them. It is built to deliver actionable outcomes and value to corporate teams.

“Each workshop is structured to deliver clear, actionable insights. Leaders will walk away with a solid understanding of how AI can be harnessed to drive their businesses forward.”

Mr Smith said: “I am thrilled to be partnering with Stuart and Clarity to offer these AI workshops. As a longstanding technology industry leader, I believe that artificial intelligence is a game-changer for businesses today, offering unprecedented opportunities for innovation, efficiency and growth.

“With the pace of technological change accelerating, it’s more important than ever for business professionals to understand and embrace AI, and we are excited to be at the forefront of this transformative movement.”
