OneComm celebrates official launch of 5G

One Communications has celebrated the official launch of its 5G network with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its Hamilton offices.

The network has been set up in collaboration with global technology company Ericsson, and OneComm says the move “signifies not only a technological advancement for Bermuda but also positions the island at the forefront of 5G innovation in the Caribbean region”.

"We are proud to partner with Ericsson to bring this advanced network to Bermuda," said Niall Sheehy, CEO of One Communications.

"Our commitment to innovation and excellence is at the heart of this project. By leveraging Ericsson's world-class technology, we are not just enhancing our current services but also laying the groundwork for future technological advancements and digital transformation in Bermuda.“

Chafic Nassif, CEO of Ericsson LATAM North said: “The introduction of 5G in Bermuda is a pivotal step for Ericsson and One Communications in advancing the country's technological progress.

“As strategic partners, we are committed to connecting communities with fast, reliable, and resilient internet, paving the way for a new era of digital advancement.”
