A trip to the Azores to get in touch with his family’s roots has prompted a real estate executive to set up a webinar about the Portuguese archipelago and opportunities in its property market.

Brian Madeiros, president and chief executive of Coldwell Banker Bermuda Realty, recently returned from São Miguel in the Azores, from where his family emigrated four generations ago.

He said: “In recent years, a growing desire to reconnect with my roots led me back. The reality of my ancestral home differed significantly from the story I had imagined.

“São Miguel embraced me within an engaging European community boasting developed infrastructure, breathtaking countryside and spectacular vistas.”

He added: “This experience granted me profound insights into Azorean family values, work ethic and culture, intricately woven into the DNA of my Bermudian family. I am grateful for this journey and eager to share more about the island.

“Following my return, I received numerous inquiries for additional information about the island and the potential real estate opportunities it holds.

“Recognising this as a perfect opportunity, we decided to collaborate with our Coldwell Banker partners in the Azores to provide an introduction and share their expertise."

A webinar offering an introduction to the Azores and shedding light on the diverse offerings of its real estate market will be held on Friday at 12.30pm.

Coldwell Banker Bermuda Realty will co-present the webinar with Coldwell Banker Houselife, its partner in Ponta Delgada, São Miguel.
