Watch: Tobacco Bay readies for tourist season
Bermuda’s Tobacco Bay Beach Club in St George’s marks the unofficial opening of the tourism season tomorrow, welcoming cruise ship visitors, hotel guests and residents to the East End.
Dennie O’Connor, the owner of the concession for the popular spot, said all of St George’s is pulling together to deliver first-class service for visitors.
Tobacco Bay Beach has been named one of the top 13 beaches in the world, as featured in a leading magazine, Travel + Leisure. Mr O'Connor said he was thrilled with the recognition.
The magazine’s article about the designation stated: “A beautiful beach escape that delivers both easy access and world-class clear-water swimming is likely closer than travellers think.
“Located in the Unesco-listed Town of St George, Bermuda, Tobacco Bay Beach was recently named one of the best in the region, ranking No 2 in the Caribbean in the latest Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best Beaches. The designation is reserved for destinations that consistently earn standout reviews over a 12-month period.”
Tobacco Bay is also featured on the cover of the Spring/Summer edition of the Bermuda.com magazine, Bermuda.
Mr O’Connor also owns White Horse Tavern and Bermuda Travel Concessions at the LF Wade International Airport.
