Appleby Bermuda has welcomed three legal interns to its rotational summer internship programme, and three interns to Appleby Global Services, Appleby’s corporate and fiduciary service provider.

The six students’ eight-week internship is from June 17 to August 14. Appleby will also welcome back three interns in the coming weeks who are past participants of the programme.

The Appleby interns are Chloe Brookes, Hannah Stockley and Markalah Telemaque. The AGS interns are Jeremias Pietila, Cameron Menzies and Yasmine Tull.

The returning Appleby interns are Ashley Attride-Stirling, Thomas Evans and Louis Hammond, who will be participating in a special project within the Corporate and Insurance teams.

Appleby’s summer internship programme for students interested in a career in law includes departmental rotation every two weeks with an assigned lawyer as a mentor, and the inclusion of case studies, assignments and presentations.

The departments include corporate, insurance and dispute resolution. Interns will also be involved in a unique final presentation which will be evaluated by members of our mentoring committee.

The AGS summer internship programme includes a dedicated mentor with exposure to different departments, providing an opportunity for students to learn various aspects of the business, including corporate administration, compliance and onboarding.

They will also gain a deeper understanding of the role of corporate secretaries, who play a central part in promoting good governance, maintaining regulatory compliance and supporting the smooth and effective operation of companies.

Brad Adderley, Appleby’s managing partner, said: “Our dynamic, hands-on approach gives students practical skills and real insight into the legal profession, supported by the guidance of our dedicated lawyers. Appleby has a longstanding commitment to developing Bermuda’s emerging legal talent and it’s especially rewarding to see students returning to build on their experience with us.”
