Walkers Bermuda named offshore law firm of the year
Walkers’ Bermuda team has been recognised as offshore law firm of the year in the International Financial Law Review Americas Awards 2026.
The awards scheme celebrates the region’s most innovative legal work, with a focus on achievements in cross-border transactions and firms, teams and individuals setting new standards in legal practice.
Senior associate Marah Smith was also named Offshore Rising Star, recognising her contribution to the firm and her work on complex cross-border matters, while the Bermuda team also received Impact Deal of the Year (Insurance) for its work on the Aspen Insurance Holdings Ltd US initial public offering.
The team included Rachel Nightingale, Natalie Neto, Sarah Demerling, Marah Smith, Amelia Oatley and Karina Skinner.
Kevin Taylor, managing partner of the firm’s Bermuda office, said the recognition reflected the depth of talent locally and the exceptional work their teams continue to deliver on complex transactions involving cross-border matters.
“We are particularly proud to see Marah recognised individually and our colleagues celebrated for their contribution to two significant corporate and insurance transactions,” Mr Taylor said. “These awards are also a testament to the trust our clients place in us and highlight the strength of our stellar teams, as well as the collaboration across the firm.”
In addition to the award wins, the Bermuda team was shortlisted for its work on the The Avianca MidCo 2 liability management exercise, led by Adam Bathgate, Joe Williams, Korin Knights and Karina Skinner.
