Gina Pereira has received a global industry award for her contribution to the private client profession.

Ms Pereira, a Bermudian private office and family governance adviser, was presented with the Geoffrey Shindler Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Profession at the 2026 Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners Private Client Awards in London.

The award, made at the judges’ discretion and not presented every year, recognises an individual’s contribution to the profession over the previous three to five years. Ms Pereira was one of five finalists.

She is principal of Dāna Stewardship Advisory, which provides independent support to families and principals with complex business, financial and philanthropic affairs.

Step, the professional association for practitioners in family inheritance and succession planning, has more than 23,000 members across 96 countries.

The awards judges said Ms Pereira had been “a driving force for positive change across the private client profession”, citing her work on legislative reform, international policy and initiatives supporting practitioners.

Ms Pereira has helped lead industry initiatives behind Bermuda’s Trustee Amendment Act 2025 and Benefit Entities Act 2025. She has also served as chairwoman of Step’s Responsible Stewardship of Wealth Steering Committee.

She said: “This award speaks to something larger than any one person’s work: the importance of strengthening the institutions we build and work within, so they can better serve the families and communities who rely on them.

“The work behind this recognition has been collaborative throughout, and I see it as reflecting the contribution of many colleagues over the years.”
