Barnes dominates at Southside
Scott Barnes continued his dominant form at Southside Raceway during weekend karting racing.
Barnes completed a clean sweep of victories in the 125cc Shifter Class and also managed a win in the TAG Senior Class for added measure.
He currently leads the Shifter Class by 12 points ahead of nearest rival Stephen Corrado (861) who managed three seconds on the day to keep things tight at the top of the championship points standings.
John Carreiro Jr was also a model of consistency in the Shifter Division as he strung together three impressive third place finishes to earn a place on the podium.
David Barbosa (838) kept within sight of points leader Barnes (885) in the TAG Senior Class after claiming victory in the day’s opening heat. Patrick Ingham won the remaining heat in the TAG Senior Division while third placed Corrado (779) had two seconds and a third respectively.
Owen DeCosta stepped up the hunt for championship honours in the Junior Stock Clone Class (10-15 years). DeCosta won two of the three heats contested to close the gap on points leader Blake Horseman who was the only other winner in his respective division on the day. Horseman (803) leads his division by 50 points over nearest rival DeCosta (753).
Karting continues May 5 at Southside Raceway.
