Allan Degraff helped himself to an early birthday gift after producing a clean sweep of victories during motocross racing at Bermuda Motorsports Park in Southside, St David’s, on Sunday.

The experienced rider won all three heats in the Expert class, the feat arriving six days before his 29th birthday.

“It was a pretty good race day. I got the holeshot [through the first turn] all three motos, trying to put down a couple of fast laps at the beginning of the race and then just try to maintain,” Degraff told The Royal Gazette.

“But I have to give my hats off to the track committee because the track was awesome.

“The track was so good that I was able to do what I do, and I just hit my marks and had a good race day.”

Degraff is now looking to continue his form heading into the traditional Boxing Day and New Year’s Day races with confidence soaring.

“I love the tradition because these are our two biggest race days,” he added. “Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, everybody knows about motocross.

“I just love that we can just keep the sport going and just want more people to come out and support the cause because we have a whole bunch of talent down there and a lot of the island don’t know about it.

“I am happy that we keep these races going and we will put on a good show. That’s what it’s all about.”

Degraff was one of six riders completing a clean sweep of victories in their various classes.
