An artist will launch her latest book at the opening of a showcase of her work this evening.

Nicky Gurret’s exhibition – Floral and Earth Art – will run at the Bermuda Society of Art gallery until December 9.

The opening event will take place from 5pm to 7pm today when her book, Floral Art, will be available.

Ms Gurret will also have photographs and acrylics on canvass for sale.

She said: “Everyone loves flowers. They are gifts from the earth, as are plants.

“Floral Art is an art form, which uses these wonderful natural ephemeral materials to create art.

“It is the art of organising elements of design according to the principles of design using plant material and other components to attain the attributes of art which are beauty, harmony, distinction and expression.”

Ms Gurret, who is also an architect, added: “I am so excited to launch my second book and share my passion for floral art with Bermuda.”
