Bank chief’s 50th birthday donation to charity

Clarien CEO Ian Truran

A bank yesterday donated free meals to a charity dedicated to the welfare of children and families to celebrate its chief executive’s birthday .

Clarien delivered 50 meals to the Family Centre so their clients could celebrate thanksgiving in style.

The gesture was made as Ian Truran, the Clarien CEO, marked his 50th birthday.

Michael DeCouto, the chief digital and marketing officer at Clarien, said: “This is a milestone birthday for our much beloved CEO Ian Truran, so we wanted to do something special in the community to mark the occasion.”

He added: “This year has been a particularly difficult one for many families due to the pandemic, so we hope this donation on Ian’s behalf will bring a little extra joy in time for Thanksgiving.”

The Family Centre, established in 1996, was designed to provide services to children and families who struggled with social or psychological problems.

They also offer families specialised programmes to help families become financially stable and give emotional support.

A spokeswoman for the bank said: “As a father of two, the Family Centre is a charity near and dear to Mr Truran’s heart – and for nearly 20 years now, Clarien Bank has been the title sponsor of the non-profit’s annual Cup Match Tag Day.”
