Works mean temporary road and bridge closures

Part of Harbour Road will be closed temporarily next week for embankment repairs to be carried out.

The Ministry of Public Works asked residents to avoid the road in the area of Burnt House Hill and Tamarind Vale in Warwick over two days.

A notice said: “This road closure is only temporary to allow for a larger excavating machine on site to carry out critical works which should only take up to two working days.

“The emergency temporary road closure will take place from Monday, November 30 through to Tuesday, December 1.

“Working hours will be from 9am to 3pm.”

Traffic controls will be in place and motorists were asked to use the detour route on Middle Road.

The notice added: “The Ministry of Public Works wishes to encourage the full co-operation of the public and apologises for any inconvenience that may result.

“Should there be any questions regarding this emergency lane closure, please direct queries to the attention of Tina Beer-Searle, civil engineer highways for Ministry of Public Works, on 501-3044.”

The ministry also alerted residents to the closure of Coney Island Bridge from Tuesday for two weeks to allow for bridge replacement works.

A notice said that there will be no access to Coney Island Road and park past the bridge section from December 1 through December 15.

Working hours will be from 7.30am to 6pm every day.

The notice added: “The public is asked to avoid the Coney Island Road Bridge section and to take due care when accessing the nearby dock.

“Traffic controls will be under the direction of Crisson Construction Limited.”

People with questions can call Tabia Butterfield, a project manager for Crisson Construction, on 777-2970.
