Christmas trees could be back on sale at a supermarket chain tomorrow afternoon after they arrived in Bermuda today.

Vernon Hassell, the vice president of purchasing and procurement at MarketPlace, said: “Our latest shipment of Christmas trees have arrived on island.

“They will be available for purchase at the Shelly Bay MarketPlace from late Friday afternoon, pending successful inspection by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

“We also have additional Christmas tree shipments that will hopefully be available later this week or early next week.”

Christmas trees have been in short supply because of a combination of factors.

These included the Covid-19 pandemic and dock-workers in Bermuda downing tools over a labour dispute.
