Senior injured in Devonshire crash

An elderly man was injured after he lost control of his motorcycle in Devonshire yesterday morning.

A police spokesman said that first responders attended to the 68-year-old man at the scene of the single-vehicle incident near the junction of Middle Road and Montpelier Road in Devonshire at about 9.40am.

The man was riding his motorcycle in a southerly direction along Montpelier Road when he lost control of the bike as he neared the junction with Middle Road.

He was thrown from the bike and landed on the road.

The police said the victim was “conscious but disoriented ” and was attended to at the scene by emergency medical technicians.

He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for further treatment of his injuries, which were not thought to be life-threatening.
