Rider taken to hospital after two-vehicle collision in Devonshire

A man was rushed to hospital yesterday after a two-vehicle collision in Devonshire.

A police spokesman said officers received reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV near the junction of Middle Road and Orange Valley Road at about 4pm.

“The male motorcycle rider has been taken to hospital via ambulance for treatment,” he said.

“The extent of his injuries is unknown at this time. Apparently the female driver of the SUV was unhurt.

“Currently traffic headed west on Middle Road is being diverted along Tee Street, while traffic headed east on Middle Road is encouraged to take alternative routes until further notice.

“Motorists are advised to expect delays in the area while the scene is processed.

Any witnesses to the collision are urged to contact police on 211.
