Watch out for zombies in the West End!
In support of the fight against breast cancer and those directly affected by it, Red Steakhouse and Bar is hosting a Ladies Luncheon Gala at noon on Wednesday, October 23. As well as lunch, this event will include informal modelling, featured wines, swag bag, and a make-up demo. The cost is $150 for single tickets, with discounts for tables six and more. Twisted tales and characters will come to life at the Haunted Youth Library on Friday, October 25. From 5.30pm until 8pm, there will be creepy crawlies, zombies and witches to contend with, but never fear, the librarians will be on hand to make sure you make it through to get your treats. The West End is once again being invaded by the undead on Saturday, October 26. The annual fundraising Zombie Walk will leave Greys Bridge at 11am and will have participants dressed as zombies shuffling their way to Somerset Village. The Village will be transformed into Mangrove Hallows with spooky family activities from noon until 4pm. All proceeds go to the Art Centre at Dockyard. No need to worry about safe neighbourhoods or safe candy this Halloween, as Lijah's Journey is hosting a safe zone for Trick or Treating on Thursday, October 31. Parents and children aged 12 and under are invited to spend the evening trick or treating from 6.30pm until 8.30pm at the Messina House camping facilities in Sandys. In addition to the traditional candy and costumes, local vendors will be on hand with bounce houses, face painting, holiday crafts, food and drink, Christmas gift ideas and more. Are you brave enough to face the Haunting of Messina Manor from Thursday, October 31 to Saturday, November 2? Celebrating the music of the late Donna Summer, Teena Marie and Whitney Houston, Jamais Productions present A Tribute to Legendary Divas on Saturday, November 2nd. This showcase will take place at the Ruth Seaton James Auditorium for the Performing Arts and will feature performances by Bermudian artists. The show will be preceded by a VIP reception at 6.30pm. Doors open at 7.30pm and the show starts at 8.30pm. Fans of Jamaican dance hall reggae will be delighted to know that the line-up for Veterans in Action's annual show will include Half Pint, Admiral Tibet and Courtney Melody, on Sunday, November 10th. The concert will be happening under a mega tent at CedarBridge Academy's North Courtyard with full band accompaniments and musical interludes by Bermuda's own Blackstar, Prophecy, Leny Global and Magnum Force.
