The Somers Isle cargo giant is expected to arrive in Bermuda this morning, at the Hamilton docks from its usual Fernandina Beach, Florida hub.

On board, it will have a total of 140 containers which include five refrigerated ones. Additionally, its miscellaneous cargo will consist of a 22-foot pleasure boat, a landscape trailer and ten storage tanks.

It will remain docked here until Friday, at which time, it sails.

Bermuda Islander is expected to berth on Island tomorrow morning with a total of 148 containers, 27 refrigerated containers included, plus three 45-foot flat bed trailers.

She will sail back to Salem, New Jersey at 8 a.m. on Friday.

Meanwhile, their counterpart Oleander, arrived from Port Elizabeth, New Jersey, on Sunday, with a total of 187 containers, 47 refrigerated ones included.

Its miscellaneous cargo consisted of 13 road trailers, one truck, one refueler and one mafi. It sailed from Bermuda at 8.05 a.m. yesterday.

Cruise ship information was not available yesterday.

What was thought to be a large oil slick within Bermuda waters, turned out to be a large area of floating seaweed, Bermuda Radio reported.

The alert came from a light aircraft pilot, who reported sighting an oil slick in approximately 25 nautical miles north north east of Bermuda, on Monday around 11.34 a.m.

The airport tower was contacted and requested further reports from in/out bound aircraft. At 12:39 p.m. a confirmed sighting of a large area of seaweed was reported in the original reported area.
